Basseterre, St Kitts, March 12, 2025 (SKNDF): Members of the St Kitts- Nevis Defence Force (SKNDF) along with Royal Navy Sailors of the HMS Medway, participated in Nelson Uniform Unveiling Ceremony on Sunday, 09 March 2025, at Government House, Nevis.
The Deputy Governor General, Her Honour Mrs Hyleta Liburd, the Deputy Premier of Nevis, along with invited guests witnessed the unveiling of the uniform. The uniform is a magnificent hand-tailored facsimile of the uniform that Captain Nelson wore at the time of his wedding in a climate-controlled display case. This momentous ceremony was done by members of the HMS Medway.
HMS Medway is a Royal Navy Guardship stationed in the Caribbean. It’s mission is to provide humanitarian aid and disaster relief in the region. It also conducts policing, drug smuggling and anti-illicit operations.
The uniform will be on display at the Nevis Historical and Conservation Society in Charlestown Nevis.
