Basseterre, St Kitts, April 12, 2025 (SKNDF): The St Kitts- Nevis Defence Force (SKNDF) hosted a Cyber Security Resilience Subject Matter Expert Exchange with the Florida National Guards. These sessions were conducted at Camp Springfield, Basseterre, from April 7 to 11, 2025.
In a strategic move to enhance regional cybersecurity, the Florida National Guard recently completed an intensive week-long training engagement with cybersecurity personnel in St. Kitts Nevis Defence Force. The initiative focused on building a solid foundation in cybersecurity principles—from access control and identity management to threat detection, system testing, and strategic planning.
Throughout the week, Florida Guard experts led sessions on critical topics such as intrusion prevention, cyber hygiene, anomaly detection, and disaster recovery. Hands-on modules helped participants apply key concepts in vulnerability assessment and configuration management, while strategic planning exercises, including SWOT analysis, capped off the training.
This collaborative effort reflects a shared commitment to strengthening cyber resilience through education, practical application, and long-term partnership. The knowledge and tools imparted are expected to significantly bolster St. Kitts and Nevis’ capacity to defend against evolving cyber threats and safeguard its digital infrastructure.
