What Does Sea Cadet Stands For?
CADET stands for Confidence Ability Discipline Etiquette Training.
It is a military-regulated high school program, whose purpose is to edutate high school students in leadership roles while making them aware of the benefits of citizenship.

By enrolling in the SEA CADET, am I joining the military?
No. Students who enroll in the SEA CADET do not join the military. However, they are considered part of the wider military family.
Will my son/daughter have to serve in the military if they join the SEA CADET?
No, There is no committment to serve in the armed forces if a student goes through the high school SEA CADET program.
At what age can I join the SEA CADET program?
You must at least 12 years old but no greater than 19 unless you transition to being a Cadet Instructor
Does the Sea Cadet program recruit for the Armed Forces?
NO! We DO NOT recruit for the St Kitts Nevis Defence Force (SKNDF). However, some students may elect to join the military.
Who instructs the students of the SEA CADET?
All teachers or instructors are active military service personnel from the St Kitts Nevis Defence Force (SKNDF) Coast Guard and Infantry. Some civilian volunteers are also part time instructors on the program. All instructors are certifiedc to teach CADETS in accordance with SKNDF Standards.
Is the SEA CADET program like boot camp?
NO! The SEA CADET program is a leadership and character-based education program that does not rely on harsh duscipline techniques like a boot camp.
How do you accomplish the SEA CADET Misison?
By instilling discipline, respect of self and authority, accepting responsibility, being accountable for your actions and learning to work as part of a team

What to I get out of taking SEA CADET?
Life Skills! The development of your personal potential, the enhanced ability to communicate with each other, the knowledge and ability to coordinate varied activities, the focus skills to plan, organize and lead group activities and the knowledge and skills to motivate and and bring a team together will give the student a distinct advantage in school and personal life.
What makes SEA CADET different from other classes?
Students in SEA CADET learn through s unique program that involves both classroom and practical situations.
How much does the SEA CADET program cost?
The cost for the SKNDF SEA CADET program is FREE. Uniforms and training materials are provided by the SKNDF. The only request is that CADETS are responsible for the cleaning of their uniforms.
Why do the students conduct drills or march?
SEA CADET uses drills and ceremonies as a well-defined, easy to master training tool. This is used to teach and develop teamwork, leadership, instructional skills, attention to detail, bearing, respect for authority and for others, responsibility and endurance.
Are students required to wear uniform?
Yes. After earning a uniform in the beginning of their first year, SEA CADETS are required to wear the uniform once a week on uniform day. The uniform is provided by the military and is custom fitted to each cadet. The uniform consists of a pair of trousers, black oxford shoes ( MUST BE SHINED), black socks, shirt, black nylon belt, silver belt buckle, and a service cap.

Why do students wear uniform?
Students wear the uniform to put all cadets on the same level. Any additions to the uniform are the ranks and awards earned by the individual cadet. The rank and awards are earned for the application of positive traits and principles that will serve the cadet and their community.
Are both girls and boys enrolled in CADETS?
Yes. The program is available to both genders equally.
Are there special rules students are required to follow?
Yes, while not the the extreme. There are rules on personal appearance, wearing of uniform and even how to address the other military personnel and cadets.
